New Fabric

I bought these two pieces of fabric at Nu: Hand Works in Jiyugaoka today.  This store is very small but has nice atmosphere.  Well, actually they don't have bright fabrics in bright or lighter colors but lots of plain colors.  But last time I went there for the first time, they gave me a coupon valid until end of November, so I just decided to go.

The pink striped fabric is good for lining since it is thin, and the brown fabric may be used for a pouch as exterior.  I'll think about it later.

baby clothes

My friend had a baby girl about a month ago but I didn't get a chance to get any gift so far.  My daughter caught a cold or the weather was horrible to go out with a small baby for me.  Anyway, finally I got the chance and bought her clothes.

I was not sure where I can find nice and cool baby stuff in Jiyugaoka, but it was really close to my place and convenient.  Luckily I fund this shop and bought one clothes with a bib for my friend and the same designed clothes but in a different color for my daughter.  They look so lovely!!!

Baby Bib Green

It was super easy to make this bib.  I got this fabric on sale for about 3 dollars at my favorite fabric store.  It was a quite big piece of fabric that you can make kid's pants.  But this time I chose to make some bibs for my daughter.  I wished the store had had more pinkish colors so that bib would be more for girls.  Well, I can't complain...since it was cheap...

For the bib I attached bias around it.  Inner circle was difficult but as long as my daughter likes it, it should be ok!

Jammmm

I bought pears a while ago and put them in the fridge.  And I actually forgot about them for a week.  When I got them they were a bit hard to eat, so I thought it would be the best time to eat now though I forgot.   Shouldn't I have put them in the fridge or did I get just hard pears?  Who knows but the pears were still hard after a week!!!  I couldn't even peel the skin, so I just decided to make pear jam.

It was easy you know...  I just cut them into some pieces and cooked them with some sugar.  It's less sweetened than others, so it is healthier.  Oh, I put some lemon juice though.  Wow, it was a lot.  Four pears became quite good portion of jam...  The jar in the picture above was tiny but there is another big jar of jam!

It turned out really yummy.  I haven't made jam for a long long time and it was probably the first time in 10 years or so.  Isn't it crazy???  haha  Anyway, I want to try again.

Hat Hat Hat

I knitted a hat for myself.  For my hat, I followed this fabulous pattern by katushika on Ravelry.  Check this out.
http://www.ravelry.com/     Sorry, I'm not good at HTML thing, so I just tell you the website.  I hope you can find it easily!

Needle size I used is 3.3mm and the yarn is Motohiro Soft Cotton.  I used up 2 skeins of it.

My knitted hat

I just knitted a little hat for my sweet daughter.  I'm still not good at gauging, but I added bubbles and eyelets in the pattern.  So, the top of it may be strange... oops.  Until I became interested in knitting other than simple scarves, I just ignore the gauge.  I didn't even know that term "gauge."  As I try knitting different items, it became obvious to me too that gauge is really important!  Now I know it is important but the next issue came up that how to adjust my gauge to the original...  It is important to learn more!!!  Next time I'll do better I promise!
